80 or so OLD MEMBERS HELPED US CELEBRATE the end of the year and the beginning of a new poetic era with a FREE SHINDIG at a favourite old Poets Union watering hole, The Friend in Hand Hotel at Glebe.
Order of the day (magnificently MC'd by our esteemed Chair, Brook Emery) was : readings, reminiscences, rants, history, comradeship, conversation, music and much more.
All were welcome! (Julia) Zan Ross was the most heroic attendee coming from Western Australia to attend.
Everyone was welcome to read ONE poem - and we got through about 30 in the end, with a great speech on The History of 'the Union' given by Martin Lanford
