The Poets Union monthly poetry reading is held on the fourth Sunday of the month (Sunday 24 October) at the Brett Whiteley Studio in Surry Hills, Sydney.

About Maggie Walsh
Maggie Walsh is an Aboriginal poet from Palm Island in far north Queensland. A mother of three and a grandmother of four children she writes about her life and uses her storytelling abilities to share these experiences. She first moved to Sydney in 2006 and has since been writing more seriously. She is currently living between the urban city of Sydney and a country town near Townsville where she has been looking after her grandchildren. She has performed her poetry at many events in both NSW and QLD.
