Newcastle Poetry Prize – entries due by 9th July
The Newcastle Poetry Prize is one of Australia's oldest and most prestigious poetry competitions and boasts a distinguished list of past winners and judges. The prize is judged blind and therefore provides a level playing field where existing reputations are confirmed and emerging talent gets a chance to break through.
Entries: for the 2010 NPP close July 9th
Prize money: there is $13500 in prize money.
Short-listed entries will be published in our annual NPP anthology,
to be launched at the NPP Prize Night on Friday 26th November.
The judges this year are Jill Jones and Anthony Lawrence (Open Section) and Rob Walker (New Media Section).
This is a fantastic opportunity to publish alongside poets of national standing and we encourage new and emerging poets to enter.
